# MediaScribe pricing

> The YouTube transcript is free forever: the full text of any video that has captions, with no
> sign-up and no limits. AI on top of those captions is free as well — summaries, notes, an
> article, chat with the video. You pay for one thing: **minutes of speech recognition, from
> $0.033 per minute**, when a video has no captions or when you upload your own audio or video
> file — one minute of balance per minute of recording. AI translation on the website also costs
> minutes; translating captions is free in the MediaScribe Chrome extension. Minutes come in
> one-time packs. There is no subscription.

## Free forever, no sign-up

- The transcript of any YouTube video that has a caption track — the whole video, not a preview
- Timecodes, search inside the transcript, read-along with the player, copy to clipboard
- Caption tracks in other languages that the author uploaded — for example, German subtitles
on an English video: that is one more set of captions, so it stays free
- Export to TXT, Markdown, SRT and VTT
- Subtitle converters between SRT, VTT and plain text, running in your browser

No account, no card, no daily quota and no limit on video length. This is the product, not a trial:
if a video carries captions, its text is free here for good. This is the deal on the website — the
mobile app and the extension state their own terms.

## Free AI on videos with captions

When a YouTube video has captions — uploaded by its author or generated by YouTube — every AI
analysis of it is free, with no sign-up and no lock: short and long summaries, detailed notes, an
article, a social post, a clean-up of the text, your own prompt and chat with the video. Guests and
signed-in users get the same. There is no price per video and no "first video only" rule: the next
captioned video is free in the same way.

This is the website's offer for AI, not the free-forever promise above: on a day of very high
demand, free AI may pause until the next day, while the transcript itself never does.

## Paid: minutes of speech recognition

You pay when there is no text to start from and a machine has to turn speech into text:

- A YouTube video that has **no** captions at all
- An audio or video file you upload (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 and other common formats). After
sign-in, files up to 500 MB and 4 hours long

Speech recognition costs 1 minute of balance per minute of recording, rounded up, and the price
is shown before it starts. In money that is from $0.033 per minute of recording, at the lowest
per-minute rate among the packs below. Once a recording is transcribed, every AI analysis of it is
included, with no second charge — you pay per recording, not per button. Minutes bought in a pack
do not expire.

The other paid item is AI translation of a transcript into another language on the website. Its
price in minutes is shown before it runs; on a recording you have already paid to transcribe,
translation is included.

Translation is free in the MediaScribe Chrome extension. The extension runs on the YouTube page
inside your browser session, and YouTube serves its machine-translated caption tracks to that
session. It does not serve them to a server, so the website translates with AI and charges minutes.

Try it before you pay. Without an account, your first recording — a video without captions or a
file up to 100 MB — is transcribed for free: in full if it is 10 minutes or shorter, the first
10 minutes if it is longer. On a shared network, such as an office or a mobile carrier, free
transcription has a daily limit per network; past it, you get a short fragment, and the full text
after sign-in. AI analyses of it and AI translation into one language are free too.
From the second recording on, a guest gets a short fragment from the start and the beginning of
each AI result; full speech recognition is paid in minutes after sign-in. If you sign in from such
a preview in the same browser, the AI results you started there open in full at no charge, once
per account.

## Packs, one-time payment

| Pack | Balance | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 hour | 60 minutes | $2.99 |
| 3 hours | 180 minutes | $7.99 |
| 10 hours | 600 minutes | $19.99 |
| Max · 30 hours | 1800 minutes | $58.99 |

Prices are in US dollars and include applicable taxes. Payment is a single charge — no
subscription, nothing renews. In Russia the same model is sold in rubles:

New accounts get a one-time gift of minutes — enough to try speech recognition before paying;
the exact amount and how long it stays valid are shown when you sign in. Gifts share a daily budget: on a day when it runs out, sign-in still works, the gift is not promised and arrives on a later day instead.
